At Punta Stays we take seriously the privacy of everyone who uses the site to search for, book, or list a stay in Punta del Este. This policy explains what data we collect, what we use it for, and what rights you have over it.
What data we collect
When you book a stay we ask for your first and last name, email, phone, country, and preferred language. If you're an owner listing a property, we use your Google account email to identify you, along with the property details you enter yourself. If you connect an Instagram account to show reels of your property, we store the username and profile link you give us.
How we use your data
We use this data to process your booking, communicate with you about its status, and, if you're an owner, to let you manage your properties and see your bookings. We don't use it for advertising and we don't sell it to third parties.
Who we share it with
We share what's necessary with the owner of the property you book, so they can coordinate your stay, and with the providers that run the site: Google Firebase for sign-in and data storage, and Mercado Pago when you choose to pay that way. None of these providers can use your data for their own purposes.
Cookies
We use one technical cookie to remember the language you chose and another to keep you signed in if you have an admin or owner account. We don't use advertising tracking cookies.
How long we keep your data
We keep a booking's data for as long as our relationship with you lasts — before, during, and after your stay — plus any additional time required by accounting and tax regulations in Uruguay.
Your rights
Under Uruguay's Law No. 18,331 on the Protection of Personal Data, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal data. You can exercise these rights by writing to hola@puntastays.com.
Changes to this policy
If we make a significant change to this policy, we'll let you know by updating the date at the top of this page.
